Bedroom Makeovers

Ahhh the tween. This client's daughter out grew the young girl look and was ready for something a little more adult, but still full of color and attitude.

Getting this look is easy. Again, your bedding should be your focal point, so pick the bedding you love most and pull colors out from it. Pick one strong color (like the black in this photo) to draw the eye in all different places and at the same time create a consistent flow throughout the room.

This client just wanted an updated look.  So with some fresh new paint and bedding we created just that! ~Meg

In this room, my client had big furniture with rich, warm, tones. Off setting the furniture with cool colors, like whites and blues,  freshens up the room but still leaves it warm and inviting.

This particular room belonged to my client's daughter who went away to college. While I agree adolescent children should be able to express their creativity in their room, I also believe the parent should reclaim it's original beauty once the children have moved on.

This client wants a room her daughter can still call her own, but at the same time, one that can double as a cozy guest room.

Tip: Mixing old and new adds comfort and warmth to any room!
Bedding becomes more cozy with more texture. Nothing needs to match perfectly, but having one pillow or quilt that encompasses the majority of colors, will pull everything together nicely!
In the end to get this look I spent only $300.   By re purposing furniture, smart shopping and finding unused items around the house, you will be able to recreate any room in your home! ~Meg

My Master Bedroom Room.
Before:

This bedroom is very long. As seen in this before picture, the bed was placed in the center of the room leaving little space for other items. The room has a cluttered feel about it.
Here is my Master Bedroom now.
After:
In this picture you see I pushed the bed to one side of the room so that the other side had a more organized feel and is an almost a separate space completely as seen below.
When putting together a bedroom, remember the bed should always be your focal point. So investing in good quality bedding will leave you with a beautiful room and should last you a very long time. Different textures can add comfort and richness, however, keep color schemes similar and pull from colors in your main comforter to accent for a comfortable flow.
Room decoration should compliment and add to the main theme of the room.
